WHAT ARE YOU WAITING FOR?
Join the Gordon Elliott Racing Club
Our brand new racing club aims to provide every member with the complete experience of racehorse ownership, from mornings on the gallops to afternoons on the racecourse. Gordon Elliott Racing Club also offers social activities throughout the season, giving members the chance to mix with other like minded racing enthusiasts. Members receive regular updates on the horses and their progress and gain an insight into the running of the yard and the training of the horses. In addition, members have the opportunies to visit Cullentra Stables and meet the clubs horses and stable stars. When the horses run, opportunities for owners badges are available and where possible, hospitality arrangements at the course are arranged. Full % share of any club prize money earned by the clubs horses (100% of all prize money goes to our members) We currently have 5 club race horses to run in both Ireland and the UK and plan to invest in more as the club grows.
On the subject of the Open Day, what we had in mind and what would be the norm is something along the lines of; arrival at approx. 9am followed by a tour of the stables and of course time on the gallops to watch the Club horses. The Club horses will also be paraded and I will give my thoughts and plans for each. Everyone can then walk around the yard at their leisure for a half hour or so and meet their favourites/stable stars and have an opportunity to take pictures etc, we will then group again for a Q&A with tea/coffee and some breakfast.
We will work with Navan in regards to perhaps discounted entry/punters packs etc for the races. That is very basic plans for the moment just to give you an idea but if anyone has any suggestions please let Zoe know as she will be organising/booking things and as always we are open to ideas!
Just for reference we welcome friends and family to the Open Day but if you can bear in mind that we want to keep Open Days etc exclusive to our members as they are one of the perks of being in the Club – therefor guests are limited to 1 per member (not including children who are more than welcome) unless previously organised with Zoe.

As you know we are giving every member 2 passes into Downpatrick races for 16th October. We hope you can join us regardless of if the club has a runner on the day as it would be great to meet you and have a chat with myself, Zoe, Olly and Dean.
Throughout its long racing history, Downpatrick has played host to many outstanding racehorses. In 1690, one of the founding fathers of modern thoroughbred racehorses, the Byerley Turk, ran in a race at Downpatrick before Carrying its owner Colonel Robert Byerley, to the Battle of the Boyne. It is said, in the battle, horse and rider avoided capture due to the horses speed of foot.
In more recent years, Downpatrick has been included in the winter campaigns of Grand National and Cheltenham winners.
The modern racecourse is set in the beautiful countryside of County Down, and its ten annual fixtures include both flat and national hunt race days. The course enjoys tremendous local support, but its friendly atmosphere is attracting more and more visitors from further a field. This is particularly true for the day of the Powers Whisky Ulster National, which takes place in February of each year.
Race Day Friday 16th October.
Race Theme Byerley Turk Raceday.
First Race 2.25pm approximately.
Last Race 5.45pm approximately.
For our members that do not live in Ireland don’t worry, there will be social events in England too and we will give plenty notice for the Open Days etc.

Please get in touch if you may need additional tickets and we will will use reasonable endeavours to obtain additional discounted / free entry badges to be provided to Members at cost for family and friends.
