No runners today, Fairyhouse this weekend is set to be very busy with runners, we have the Tattersalls Bumper forfeits today in which we currently have 7 entries then Irish Grand National forfeits tomorrow where we still have 25 entries at this stage!
What a thrilling race the Grand National was! Our brave Cause Of Causes ran an unbelievable race to finish 2nd, less than a month after winning at the Cheltenham Festival! Roi Des Francs jumping was a thing of awe – Jack Kennedy, having his first ride in the race gave him a fantastic ride and poor Ucello Conti was very unlucky to unseat when getting a dream run but the main thing is all 3 are home safe and well. We have to also give a special mention to Rightdownthemiddle who ran an absolute blinder on Saturday in the Betway Handicap Chase.
GERC horse Dawerann ran very well at Tramore yesterday, we are delighted with him!
Back to the grindstone today with 6 runners at Tramore!
Best of luck to all runners and riders in todays Grand National – a fantastic days racing ahead!
And best of luck to our little pocket rocket Dawerann at Tramore tomorrow!
5 runners between Aintree and Wexford today:
CLARCAM takes on the Topham Chase, he’s such a crafty character that he could book his own boat to Aintree, he obviously has plenty of ability and if things go his way he has a nice chance. Bryan Cooper rides.
USURP is up first in the Rated Novice Hurdle, he was very disappointing on his latest at Fairyhouse last weekend and we hope it was a one off!
HIGH EXPECTATIONS (pictured) is next in the Handicap Hurdle on his 4th start over obstacles, he did show some improvement on his last run and he’s in good form at home. Jack Kennedy rides.
MONBEG ROSE – Jack Kennedy and WATER SPRITE – Denis O’Regan both represent us in the Vinegar Hill Beginners Chase, the former is a Point to Point winner who hasn’t had much luck under rules over fences just yet and the latter returns from a break looking fantastic, we hope for a good run from both today.
It’s the big day tomorrow – The 2017 Grand National!
1 runner at Aintree today and 4 at Tramore:
EMPIRE OF DIRT contests the Grade 1 Betway Bowl Chase, he will appreciate todays step up in trip after finding the pace at Cheltenham tough and he’s goes with a really good chance today. Bryan Cooper rides.
BERRY DES AULMES is up first in the 2m3 Maiden Hurdle, he will enjoy todays conditions and has run well here before. Jack Kennedy rides.
PAHASKA is next in the Mares Handicap Hurdle, she will need to show marked improvement to be in with a shout in this but she’s in good form at home. Jack Kennedy rides.
ORCHARD ROAD returns from a break to take on the Martinstown Opportunity Handicap Hurdle with Cian Collins in the saddle, he’s done great for his time off and goes here with a nice little chance today.
ISABELLA LIBERTY is the last runner of the day in the Handicap Chase, she is also returning from a break and looks very well for it, she benefits from Cian Collins 7lb claim today and we hope for a great run.
Just the 2 runners at Wolverhampton today:
DEMBABA is up first in what is his yard debut, he’s been off the track for nearly 2 years but has been doing plenty at home so we hope for a decent run back under Liam Keniry.
The tricky CAPTAIN K is next in the 1m Handicap, he really needs to pull up his socks but Finley Marsh claiming 7lb may just help things along today.
No runners today but we have 2 horses travelling over to Wolverhampton for tomorrows racing, horses leaving for Aintree and we have 15 entries at Limerick on Thursday!
No runners today after 8 at Limerick yesterday and 1 winner. A busy weekend ahead with over 40 entries between Navan and Fairyhouse!
8 runners at Limerick today;
HARDEN is up first in the Maiden Hurdle, he’s been slightly disappointing so far but is in good order at home and we hope he can start to show some improvement today under Bryan Cooper.
MORGAN is next in the Rated Novice Hurdle, he held on well to win at Naas last time out and goes here with a great chance under Bryan Cooper.
2 in the Handicap Hurdle; JEANNOT DE NONANT – Cian Collins and LANDAU – Jack Kennedy. The former hasn’t set the world alight since joining us from France but will benefit from Cians 7lb claim today which should help things along. The latter ran really well last time out after a long break and goes here today with a nice little chance.
Also 2 in the Mares Hurdle; STRIKE IS BACK – Jack Kennedy and newcomer TEARSOFCLEWBAY – Bryan Cooper. Strike Is Back won comfortably at Clonmel last time out and has been improving with every run, she came out of the race well and is in great order at home. Tearsofclewbay makes her stable debut, she has some very good form in England and looks a really nice mare.
GENERAL PRINCIPLE represents us in the next, a 3m Novice Chase of just 6 runners, he won easily on his last outing and prior to that has run some decent races. Bryan Cooper rides.
Last but not least we have ISODON in the Bumper, he’s yet to get his head in front but the improvement in the ground should suit him today. Jamie Codd rides.
A full load of gallopers went to Skryne yesterday along with some horses going home for their summer breaks – we’re always busy despite no racing! We have Aintree entries closing today, tomorrow and Friday!
Club horse Dawerann has been entered again at Navan this Saturday in the 2m6 Handicap Hurdle!
