Thursday 8th June

Just the 2 runners today at Leopardstown;

AUTOMATED – C.T Keane and ONDAMOURA – S.P Davis both represent us in the Grant Thornton Handicap. The former is a great dual purpose horse, the winner of a Grade B Hurdle as well as winning on the flat he’s a real all rounder. The latter in his 2 starts for us hasn’t set the world alight but is in great order at home and goes here off a nice weight.

Great news in the Club camp, we have a new horse joining us; FAIRY FLUTE! Stay tuned for an email update later on this morning!

Wednedsay 7th June

3 runners at Wexford today;

BE THE HERO is up first in the Vinegar Hill Hurdle, after a promising start he has had nothing but bad luck so we hope he can regain some confidence here today reverting back to hurdles. Bryan Cooper rides. Also in this we have WOODFORD ISLAND who has some decent form behind him, if he too can regain his better form he looks to have a nice chance under Davy Russell.
POTTERS POINT takes on the Novice Chase, he finished a good 2nd at Punchestown last time out and we hope he can go one better today! Bryan Cooper rides.

Monday 5th June

5 runners at Listowel today!

PENNY JANE is up first in the Kingdom Mares Maiden Hurdle, the bumper winning mare ran at Tipperary last time out finishing 3rd. Davy Russell takes the ride.
CAPTAIN VON TRAPPE is next in the Old Weir Handicap Hurdle, he has his own ideas about the game with his last win being back in 2015, he’s capable of picking up a race like this if he can show a return to better form. Chris Meehan’s 7lb claim will hopefully help things along. Also in this we have WHIZZZEY RASCAL partnered by Davy Russell, she is in really good order and would be the pick of our 2 runners in this.
CECIL CORBETT was a close 4th at Down Royal last time out, he’s a lovely old horse who always runs on his merits and we hope for another good performance here today under Lisa O’Neill.
TURN OVER SIVOLA will be ridden by Denis O’Regan in the John J Galvin Handicap Chase, he has some great runs behind him but so far hasn’t been able to replicate them in Ireland however, he’s in great order at home.

Friday 2nd June

7 runners today at Tramore;

USURP is up first making his chasing debut in the 2m5 Beginners Chase, he’s not the most consistent but is in great form at home and we hope for a safe round. Davy Russell rides.
LEOMAR is next in the Maiden Hurdle, he has a few decent runs behind him now and fully deserves to get his head in front but has to deal with top weight here today, he is also partnered by Davy.
PATS OSCAR – Keith Donoghue and QUINNSBOROTEMPTRES – Denis O’Regan both represent Cullentra in the 2m5 Mares Maiden Hurdle. Pats Oscar returned from a break to run well enough at Down Royal last week and will have come on from that. Quinnsborotemptres has a good bumper run under her belt but hasn’t fared as well since, she will need to show improvement to be in the mix up here today.
STATION CLOSED (pictured) has been a revelation of late for the Club, winning twice in a week she’s come out of her races in top form and is partnered again today by Davy Russell who gets a great tune out of her! Also in this race we have CANOVA who will need to get back to his best here to feature. Seamus Perry claiming 7lb is a plus!
ZANJABEEL is the last runner of the day in the 2m Handicap Hurdle, his return at Kilbeggan after a break wasn’t his finest hour but he’s in really good form at home and will have improved from the run. Davy Russell rides.

Thursday 1st June

2 runners today at Fairyhouse both making their racecourse debuts in the second race, a 6f Auction Maiden;

ONLY WILLIAM, a lovely young horse by Kyllachy who will be partnered by Declan McDonogh and SMILING ELIZA a filly by Rock Of Gibralter who has Chris Hayes on board.

Wonderful to hit 1,000 winners yesterday with Moonday Sun, what an achievement!

Tuesday 30th May

8 runners at Ballinrobe today:

DORANS RIVER – Davy Russell is up first in the Rated Novice Hurdle along with FRIDAYNIGHTLIGHTS – Ruby Walsh. The former won well at Downpatrick on his yard debut after a couple of unsuccessful starts, he’s in great form and we expect another good performance. The latter has done really well since joining the team with two back to back wins and close fourth last time out.
SANIBEL ISLAND is next in the Handicap Hurdle with Denis O’Regan on board, he’s a genuine horse who has run well for Denis before and we hope he’s back in the winners enclosure today, in this we also have TIMIYAN making his yard debut partnered by Jodie McGarvey.
MISCHIEF MAISY contests the next Handicap Hurdle with Davy Russell taking the ride, she needs to show some improvement but is in good form at home.
Despite a good start BILKO’s last couple of runs have been disappointing so we hope he can show a return to form here today in this Beginners Chase, this will be his chasing debut. Keith Donoghue rides.
DEFINITE RUBY – David Mullins and JETSTREAM JACK – Davy Russell both represent us in the Mayo National Handicap Chase, Definite Ruby is such a star for her owners, she’s as tough as they come and always shows a good account of herself. Jetstream Jack was unlucky to fall at Punchestown, he’s got some really nice form behind him and we hope he can get back to his best today.

Monday 29th May

What a fantastic result for Station Closed on Friday! Two wins in the space of a week, what a star!

5 runners at Ballinrobe today:

KNOCKMAOLE BOY contests the first race, a 2m Maiden Hurdle; he’s been running really well for new connections the Twenty Times Two Syndicate but was unlucky to fall on his latest when running well. Ruby Walsh rides.
VANISHING POINT won nicely at Clonmel earlier in the month and all three starts for us have been very promising, we hope he can show a good account of himself here today under Keith Donoghue.
WATER SPRITE is a tough little mare who finished third last time out at Wexford, beaten a good distance but the winner was Listen Dear a multiple Grade 3 winner. Denis O’Regan.
CANNY TOM has been unlucky on his last couple of starts and is yet to win a race so is more than due a bit of luck, he’s in good form at home and we hope for an improved run under Keith Donoghue.
KILLER CROW is the final runner of the day in the 2m1 Handicap Chase, he really needs to pull his socks up and show some improvement, his last win was back in 2015 and although the ability is there he has his own ideas about the game! Conor Brasil takes off 5lb.
